BUY NOW EXCLUSIVELY AT BEATPORT!!! UK badman DS1 steps up [...]

BUY NOW EXCLUSIVELY AT BEATPORT!!!

UK badman DS1 steps up for his debut on the Slit Jockey Records label. With this EP he branches out his sound with lush and deep productions that are both forward thinking and body moving at the same time.

DS1 is far from a rookie to underground electronic music. As well as being one of the pioneers of Bassline and 4/4 and remixing for Bhangra superstar Panjabi MC, he has produced UK Funky smash hits under the alias Darkus Beat Company and is responsible for one of the biggest club smashers of 2009/10, Tempa T – Next Hype Funky Mashup. He is now producing “bass music” with a mix of grime, trap rap, garage, and dubstep influences. In 2011, his productions have received support from the likes of Plastician, DJ Target, Logan Sama, Elijah & Skilliam just to name a few gaining airplay on BBC 1Xtra, Rinse FM, Kiss FM amongst many other radio stations. He released the “Kickback” EP mid 2011 along with the “Stuck in the Machine” EP featuring London grime MC and N.A.S.T.Y crew member Griminal. DS1′s return this year with his new sound has been a big one and is definitely one to watch for 2012.

Not to mention the firepower remixer lineup that is sure to grab your attention. Following sick releases on Ninja Tune and Civil Music, Starkey cooks up a grimey number that is sure to make you screwface. London’s Bobby Tank (Vermin St) brings an excellent 80s funk/r&b vibe. Repping Las Vegas and 119 Sound, King drops a chunky beat while still keeping it lush. Rounding it out Slit Jockey’s own El Carnicero chops track into a bumpin’ riddim version.

Track listing:
1. Lost Memories
2. Red Rain
3. Freeze Dried
4. Red Rain (Starkey Remix)
5. Lost Memories (Bobby Tank Remix)
6. Lost Memories (King Remix)
7. Freeze Dried (El Carnicero Remix)

Sduk’s debut album is here! Don’t think about it, just head directly to the check out and purchase this hot slab of sound!

Grab “Anything Could Happen” from these digital shops:

Here’s what some fine folks are saying about this album:

“Serious ruffneck bizz-ness.” – Spooky

“This is HUGE!! I’m gonna smash this LP to bits, got mad vibes!” – Slick Shoota

“All City is a tuuuuuune! Awesome release, I will definitely be playing these tunes out.” – Kid Smpl

“Lovin’ YouNyt with Karizma!” – Proper Villains

“A year in the making…and it is worth the wait. Sduk ftw! So good.” +Verb

“This is a strong release! I can see grime, dubstep & bass DJs alike playing this.” – Neon Beats

“If Sduk’s ‘Anything Could Happen’ is the signs of things to come from Slit Jockey in 2012 then this will be the year of the Jockey!! Excellent debut!!” – rar Kelly

“VALID!!!! big tune!” – Knight Riderz

“Seclusiasis sub-label Slit Jockey arrive at their first album release with the debut LP of synthed-out Grime, Boogie and Crunk by Sduk. Boasting guest appearances from Starkey and Central Spillz (Shadz and Superisk) ‘Anything Could Happen’ is a controlled, multicolour explosion of trill synths, whipcrack 808s and ruder bass, crossing UK and US sensibilities with clear finesse. From the heat-seeking synths and switch-flicking flex of ‘Valid’ he cycles thru downbeat 808 and synth jams like ‘Fog’ to the Kingdom-meets-Royal T styles of ‘All City’ and the hyper-hybrid Grime epic ‘Fire’ feat. Central Spillz, taking in mutated R&B on ‘Landing Light’ and raved-up crunk madness on ‘Oashens’ with Starkey.” – Boomkat

Slit Jockey Records is starting off the new year with their first ever artist album on the label, which is also Sduk’s first full length release!

On Anything Could Happen we hear Sduk explore a variety of tempos yet there is a clear stylistic thread that ties it all together as a cohesive and diverse collection of forward thinking bass music.

West London’s Sduk has been buzzing on the internet and the streets every since his debut on Slit Jockey with 2010’s Clunge 12” and digital release (remixes by NastyNasty, Grievous Angel, Phaseone and more). In the summer of ’11 Slit Jockey released the YouNyt EP (remixes by Talk, Hellfire Machina and Halp). Now the world is ready for the young producer’s debut album!

Guest appearances sprinkle extra flavor on this already excellent package, with Bristol’s rave rap group Central Spillz tearing down a heartfelt anthem for “Fire,” Starkey’s co-production on “Oahshens” gets everyone epic on the dancefloor and Sduk’s previously released instrumental “YouNyt” gets reworked as a grime banger featuring Nottingham MC Karizma.

Sduk and his previous Slit Jockey works have been featured in XLR8R, Pitchfork, Knowledge Magazine, Symbiosis, Bass Music Blog, Squeegie Sounds, Doktor Krank and many other blogs/media. Sduk is a member of the UK based Pipedown crew as well as being a talented graphic designer (he did the cover art).

You can pre-order the album from iTunes now!

XLR8R features our latest release, the collab EP from Dev79 [...]

XLR8R features our latest release, the collab EP from Dev79 & Thrills, with a free download of the lead track “Between Your Legs” at the link below! This is what they had to say:

“Bi-coastal American collaborators Dev79 & Thrills, who have actively been remixing other artists since last year, have dropped their debut EP of originals, Loose Joints and Blunt Objects, which includes this uptempo, bass-loaded piece of garage. The broken beats, chopped vocals, and heavy sub-bass are solidly executed in the track, and, combined with the ascending and descending synth pads and bleeps, make for a solid dancefloor banger. The rest of the new EP (artwork above) draws more heavily from grime and dancehall than “Between Your Legs,” and includes the previously released “Off In a Minute” featuring Welsh MC Skamma.”

OUT NOW AT ALL DIGITAL SHOPS!

Grab the EP here: Juno Download | Boomkat | Beatport | iTunes

This past summer saw the release of Dev79 & Thrills debut single, “Off In A Minute” ft Skamma, and now their full EP is available with a variety of hybrid beat concoctions bubbling over. Coming together from Philly to Seattle to brew up their special blend of bass n’ riddims. Fresh to ya ears and unforgiving to ya ass, these boys take charge of the sound and deliver it live n’ direct. After teaming up for a few collab remixes, Dev79 & Thrills were on a roll and have a cooked up Loose Joints and Blunt Objects featuring 5 original tracks. These tunes take influence from future garage, tropical, grime and more for a unique and yet club ready sound.

Philadelphia’s brazen Dev79 attacks a barrage of genres, with an almost reckless abandon, to create his spin on the Street Bass style, as displayed in his recent Get 2 Know and Street Bass Bootlegs releases. He’s done remixes for +Verb, Starkey, Raffertie, DZ, BD1982, Manikan, Mestizo, Dmn Days and has been featured in XLR8R, Mishka, FACT, Frank151, Trash Menagerie, and Discobelle.

Seattle based producer/DJ, Thrills, has been grindin’ for 14 years. He has collaborated with DZ, Jay Robinson, Dean Tynan, and Tony Rocky Horror. His tracks have been heavily supported by Rusko, Kissy Sell Out, Excision, Doorly, and Annie Nightingale on BBC Radio 1. He’s released on his own Sub Philo Music label as well as DJs Are Not Rockstars, Hot N Heavy, Badman Press, Dandy Kid and more.

This EP also features vocal contributions from Welsh MC Skamma, who is known for his work with Stagga, and up and coming Philadelphia singer Kimberly Diamond.
